Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 pre-made pie crust (or 2 if making a top crust)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, refried beans, and salsa. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the beef mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and dollop sour cream on top.
- If using a second pie crust, place it over the filling and cut slits for ventilation. If not, skip this step.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, black olives, and garnish with cilantro before serving.
