Ingredients:

  • 1 large French bread loaf, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced ribeye steak, bell pepper, and onion. Cook until the steak is browned and the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, minced garlic, and garlic powder. Spread this mixture evenly over both halves of the French bread.
  4. Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Remove the bread from the oven and evenly distribute the steak, peppers, and onions over the garlic buttered bread.
  6. Sprinkle shredded provolone and mozzarella cheeses over the top. Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing and serving.
