Ingredients:
For the Goulash:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
For the Broccoli:
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving:
- 1 package (12 rolls) Hawaiian sweet rolls
Directions:
- Cook the Goulash:
- In a large pot or skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, elbow macaroni, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally. If desired, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Prepare the Broccoli:
- While the goulash is simmering, steam the broccoli in a pot or microwave until bright green and tender, about 4-5 minutes. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve:
- Serve the goulash hot, alongside steamed broccoli and warm Hawaiian rolls.
