Garlic Shrimp Pasta with Fresh Herbs

Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a classic dish that perfectly balances the flavors of tender shrimp, aromatic garlic, and a rich, creamy sauce. This recipe is quick to make yet sophisticated enough to impress at a dinner party.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the white wine (or chicken broth) and let it simmer for 2 minutes, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the sauce coats the pasta evenly.
  7. Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and gently toss to combine.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
