Crockpot Barbecue Ribs are a mouthwatering way to enjoy tender, fall-off-the-bone meat without the hassle of grilling. Slow-cooked in a flavorful barbecue sauce, these ribs develop a rich, smoky flavor that seeps into every bite. The convenience of a crockpot allows the meat to become incredibly tender while the sauce thickens and caramelizes, creating a sticky, finger-licking glaze. Perfect for family gatherings or casual weeknight dinners, these ribs are easy to prepare and deliver that beloved barbecue taste with minimal effort. Serve them with coleslaw and cornbread for a complete, satisfying meal that everyone will crave!
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs baby back ribs or St. Louis-style ribs
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
Directions:
- Remove the silver membrane from the back of the ribs for better seasoning and tenderness.
- In a small bowl, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice blend all over the ribs, coating both sides.
- Place the ribs in the slow cooker, curving them to fit if necessary.
- In a separate bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and liquid smoke (if using). Pour the sauce evenly over the ribs.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the ribs are tender and easily pull away from the bone.
- Optional: For a sticky, caramelized finish, place the cooked ribs on a baking sheet, brush with extra barbecue sauce, and broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
- Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
