Christmas Poke Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1/4 cup red and green sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Prepare the white cake mix according to the box instructions, adding the vanilla extract to the batter. Bake in a 9×13-inch pan and let cool completely.
  2. Once cooled, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes across the surface of the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the eggnog, sweetened condensed milk, and nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Slowly pour the eggnog mixture over the cake, ensuring the liquid fills the holes evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  5. Spread the whipped topping evenly over the top of the chilled cake.
  6. Decorate with red and green sprinkles before serving.
