Apple Cinnamon Lasagna Roll

This Apple Cinnamon Lasagna Roll is a warm, gooey, bakery-style dessert made with layers of cinnamon rolls, tender spiced apples, and rich caramel sauce. It bakes into a cozy, pull-apart treat that feels like a cross between apple pie and cinnamon roll casserole. Perfect for fall gatherings, holiday brunches, or anytime you want an impressive dessert with minimal effort. Serve it warm with a drizzle of icing—and even ice cream if you want to take it over the top.

Ingredients

  • 2 packets cinnamon rolls (with icing)
  • 4 large apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (or salted caramel sauce)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and spray an 8×8-inch (or similar) baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Toss diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Cut cinnamon rolls into 1/2-inch strips and roll them out on a floured surface to flatten.
  4. Arrange a bottom and side layer of flattened rolls in the dish, pressing to seal.
  5. Spread half of the apple mixture over the dough; drizzle with 2–3 tablespoons caramel.
  6. Add a second layer of flattened cinnamon rolls.
  7. Spread remaining apples on top and drizzle again with caramel.
  8. Cover with remaining cinnamon roll pieces as the top layer.
  9. Cover dish with foil and bake 30 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool at least 30 minutes, then drizzle with the cinnamon-roll icing before serving.

Tips

  • Flour your hands and surface well—cinnamon roll dough is sticky and easier to work with when dusted.
  • Allow cooling time so the layers set and slice more cleanly.

FAQ

Can I add nuts?
Chopped pecans or walnuts add great texture; sprinkle them between layers.

Can I use jumbo cinnamon rolls?
