Crispy Crab Rangoon Wontons with Creamy Filling

These Crab Rangoon Wontons are the ultimate crispy bite-sized treats, packed with a rich and creamy crab filling. The golden brown crust gives way to a velvety interior, making each bite absolutely irresistible.

  1. Ingredients:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup crab meat (fresh or imitation), chopped
    • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 20 wonton wrappers
    • Vegetable oil for frying
    Directions:
    1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, soy sauce, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
    2. Lay the wonton wrappers flat on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of each wrapper.
    3. Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with a small amount of water. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle and pinch the edges to seal. You can also fold the corners of the triangle inward to create a traditional crab rangoon shape.
    4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    5. Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
    6. Serve hot with sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
