Wendy’s Chili

  1. Ingredients:
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1/2 pound ground pork (optional)
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
    • 2 cans (15 oz each) diced tomatoes with green chilies
    • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
    • 1 tablespoon chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon cumin
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions
    Directions:
    1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef and ground pork (if using) over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
    2. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the pot and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
    3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
    4. Add the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
    5. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    6. Serve hot, topped with cheese, sour cream, and green onions if desired.
